Woman's body found on Perranporth beach

A woman's body has been found on Perranporth beach.

Emergency services were called amid concerns for someone's welfare at around 7am on Monday morning.

Police and paramedics attended but sadly the woman died at the scene.

Officers are trying to work out who the woman is and what happened.

Searches are being carried out by the coastguard and a cordon is in place.

"Police and ambulance were called shortly before 7am today [15 April] following concern for the welfare of a woman on Perranporth beach.

"On arrival the woman was located deceased at the scene.

"A cordon is in place and HM Coastguard are also in attendance.

"Enquiries are underway to ascertain the woman’s identity and the circumstances of her death.

"Searches of the beach are being carried out by police and Coastguard

"A cordon is in place."
