Police reveal more details about body found on beach

Police have revealed more details after a woman's body was found on Perranporth beach.

She has now been formally identified and officers say she was 22 and from the town.

The discovery was made early on Monday morning along the shoreline on the beach.

Her family has now been told and police are still trying to work out what happened.

Her death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Police have identified a woman whose body was found on Perranporth beach on Monday [15th April].

"Police and ambulance were called just before 7am following the discovery of the woman at the shoreline. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"She has been identified following police enquiries and her next of kin informed. She was 22 and from Perranporth.

"Police are continuing enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding her death which is being treated as unexplained."
