UPDATE: Woman found dead on a Cornish beach is named

Police have named the woman whose body was found on Perranporth beach.

Anastaszja Plusa was from the town as was just 22-years-old.

A dog walker made the discovery along the shoreline early on Monday morning.

Her family has been told and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Now officers are trying to work out the young woman's final moments.

Anyone who saw Anastaszja in Perranporth the previous evening is being urged to contact officers.

"Officers investigating 22-year-old Anastaszja’s death would like to hear from anyone who may have seen her in and around the town from 7.45pm onwards.  

"Anastaszja was originally from Poland but grew up in Holland.  She moved to the UK years ago and has lived in Perranporth a number of times.

"She was last seen wearing a dark-coloured coat, blue jeans and beige Converse trainers at the Texaco garage on Budnic Hill, Perranporth, at 7.45pm.

"Police are continuing enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding Anastaszja’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Her next-of-kin have been informed.

"Police have issued photos of Anastaszja, one of which shows her in the clothes she was last seen wearing."

Anyone who saw Anastaszja the evening before her death is being urged to contact police

Police and ambulance were called just before 7am on Monday 15th April following the discovery of a woman at the shoreline on Perranporth beach.

Sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting enquiry number EN/5586/19.
