Seasonal dog beach bans come into force across Cornwall

Seasonal dog beach bans come into force across Cornwall

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 7:31am 21st April 2019.

Tis' the season - for dog bans on beaches in Cornwall.

We're at that time of year again, when our furry pals need to step off the sand for the summer.

It means peak-time bans, which are held on a number of Cornwall beaches, will be put on place as holidaymakers flood the Duchy.

"Cornwall has hundreds of beautiful beaches and dogs are welcome all year round on many.

"At more popular times of the year, when our beaches are busy with families, dogs are restricted from some as not all beach goers welcome our four legged friends.

"Cornwall Council tries to balance the wishes of dog owners and families looking for safe, dog free experiences so provide a choice.

"Information is available at dog restricted beaches or information on all our beaches can be found on the Council or Visit Cornwall websites, helping people to choose."

Sue James, Cornwall Council portfolio holder for the environment and public protection
