Police appeal after assault leaves man in hospital

Police have launched an appeal after an assault in Perranporth that left a young man in hospital.

Officers say the casualty in his 20s suffered multiple injuries, but they are not thought to be serious.

They were called to reports he was targeted by a group of men on Beach Road, who then fled the scene.

Anyone who saw something on Easter Monday evening is being urged to come forward.

"Police were called to Beach road at around 8.40pm on Monday 22nd April following reports of an assault.

"It was reported that a man in his 20s, was reported to have been assaulted by a group of men. They had left the scene prior to police arrival.

"The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for multiple injuries, not believed to be serious.

"Enquiries remain ongoing into this incident".

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 917 of Monday 22 April.
