Plans revealed for new £50m holiday park near Newquay

Plans have been revealed for a brand new £50m state-of-the-art holiday park near Newquay.

Officials say it would be built at a site known as Bejowan Farm (and adjoining land) - and would be larger than most towns.

The site would include up to 1,000 holiday lodges, restaurants, swimming pools, leisure centre and other associated infrastructure.

Kingsley Developments (SW) Limited has now submitted a request to Cornwall Council for Pre-Application Advice for the development.

In a recent statement they described their plan to develop one of the biggest holiday parks in the South West of England which they suggested would generate up to 400 seasonal and full time jobs as a "great opportunity for Newquay".

"We are aware of both the increase in tourism demand on Newquay; and yet the decrease in bed spaces available as a direct result of old hotel sites being redeveloped into an array of apartment blocks.

"The aim is to develop one of the largest holiday parks in the South West, but certainly Newquay.

"With the highway works being carried out as part of the Newquay Strategic Route, the proposal site is perfectly located to be the first holiday park tourists will see when they approach Newquay."

Abe Simpson, Managing Director of Kingsley Developments

The company made the comment that both Newquay people and the businesses here will want accommodation to attract and allow tourists to the town.

Kingsley further made the statement that the park, once fully developed, would inject approximately £15M into the local economy.

Kingsley has not yet submitted a Planning Application to Cornwall Council as it said it is still acquiring more land adjoining the proposal site with the intention of trying to make the proposal even larger.

However it does intend to submit an application later on this year.
