Police searching for missing man find body

Police searching for a man, missing from the St Austell area for over a week, have found a body.

The tragic discovery was made in a field between Nanpean and Foxhole on Saturday.

Officers were called to concerns for a man's welfare on Saturday afternoon.

They say the death is not being treated as suspicious and the family of 49-year-old Shaun Sweet has been told.

"Police searching for missing St Austell man Shaun Sweet, 49, have located the body of a man.

"Officers were called at 3.20pm on Saturday 27th April following concern for the welfare of a man found in a field between Nanpean and Foxhole, Cornwall.

"On arrival the man was found deceased.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.

"Mr Sweet's family has been informed.

"Police have been carrying out enquiries to locate Mr Sweet who was reported missing on 24 April".
