'Serious' A38 crash: The road has reopened

A stretch of the A38, closed after a serious crash, has reopened.

A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the collision near Liskeard.

Two vehicles hit, shutting the westbound carriageway between Trerulefoot and Menheniot.

Tragically, police have since confirmed the injured woman lost her life.

The incident happened just before 2pm on Thursday, scrambling paramedics and the air ambulance.

Police confirmed a woman was rushed to  Derriford with serious injuries, but sadly died.

Devon and Cornwall Police warned of major disruption and urged drivers to avoid the area.

Highways England was expecting the road to remain closed for most of the evening but has since confirmed it has reopened.
