Police called to reports of 'stabbing' in Falmouth

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 3:46pm 13th May 2019.

Police have been called to reports of an alleged stabbing in Falmouth.

Officers with tasers were called to the scene at Swanpool on Monday lunchtime.

Other emergency services were scrambled too and searches were carried out around the area.

Nothing was found - and police say it was a false call, with no such incident having taken place.

"We received a call of a stabbing in the area and as per our force protocol, taser carrying officers were given the greenlight to attend along with emergency services.

"Following an area search and enquiries with businesses and members of the public close to the reported scene, it appears that this call was false, and no such incident has taken place."
