Collision in Cornish village leaves boy injured

Police have confirmed a collision in a Cornish village has left a 13-year-old boy injured.

Officers say the teenager was 'clipped by a car' as he walked along a lane in Roche, but the driver did not not stop.

The incident happened on the lane that runs alongside the pharmacy, not near the school as first reported.

He suffered an ankle injury at around on Monday afternoon and was taken to Treliske.

Anyone who saw something at around 4pm is being urged to come forward.

"We were contacted around 5.15pm yesterday regarding a collision between a car and a 13-year-old boy in Roche.

"The incident had happened at 4pm.

"The boy was clipped by a car as he walked along a lane that runs alongside the pharmacy.

"The driver did not stop at the scene.

"The boy, from Roche, was taken to Treliske Hospital. He sustained an ankle injury.

"Enquiries are continuing to locate the driver and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting log number 590 of 13/05/19".
