There are fears for pets after a massive fire through four houses in a Cornish village.

The blaze broke out in a property in Illogan on Tuesday evening - and spread to three others.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all called to the scene on Bridge Road at around 5.30pm.

Everybody was evacuated safely but now officers say there are unconfirmed reports that several pets may have been inside the houses.

It is reported that a cat, kitten and reptile may have all been killed in the fire.

Pirate FM has asked Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service for an update.
