Man injured in alleged dog attack in country park

A man has been injured after an alleged dog attack at a popular country park in south-east Cornwall.

Police are investigating an incident at Mount Edgcumbe near Torpoint.

Posts on social media claim the dog was a Staffie but that has not been confirmed.

Officers had reports the dog in questions chased and attacked another dog and a man.

Both were hurt after it happened on Sunday 12th May, with the man suffering an injury to his hand.

"Police are investigating reports of an incident at Mount Edgcumbe, Torpoint.

"It was reported that on Sunday 12th May, around 5pm, a dog chased and attacked another dog and a man.

"The dog and man both sustained injuries. The man was later treated for a hand injury.

"Police enquires remain ongoing at this time".

The park is jointly owned and managed by Cornwall Council and Plymouth City Council.
