12-year-old boy hurt after collision in Liskeard

A 12-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being caught in a collision with a car in Liskeard.

Police say the youngster suffered an ankle injury during the incident on West Street.

It happened during the school run on Friday and officers had reports that a vehicle had left the scene.

"Police were called at 8.20am today following reports of a collision involving a car and a child on West Street, Liskeard.

"It was reported that the vehicle had left the scene following the incident

"The 12-year-old boy is believed to have sustained an injury to his ankle is being taken to hospital by land ambulance.

"Enquiries remain ongoing into this incident".

Inrix Traffic and Travel says West Street is partially blocked near Caradon School.
