Police appeal after Lostwithiel assault sparks 'rumours'

Police are appealing for information after an assault in Lostwithiel reportedly sparked 'much talk and rumours'.

The victim was allegedly punched by another man in Fore Street in the early hours of he 6th May.

He suffered a fractured jaw and injuries to his mouth - which required extensive dental treatment.

Now officers are urging anyone who saw what happened or has any information to come forward.

"Officers are investigating an incident which took place in Fore Street between 1am and 1.10am on Monday, May 6th.

"The male victim was punched by another man and suffered a fractured jaw and serious dental injuries requiring extensive treatment.

"Police are aware the incident has been the subject of much talk and rumour in the town and have urged witnesses to come forward."
