An investigation has been launched after a man reportedly got his hand trapped in machinery at a Cornish pasty factory.

Paramedics and the air ambulance got the shout to a so-called 'incident' at Ginsters.

It happened at the Moss Side Industrial Estate in Callington in April.

The man was airlifted to Derriford hospital but it is not known how badly he was injured.

Samworth Brothers, which runs the Cornwall Bakery, has confirmed that an investigation is being carried out.

A spokesperson said this would always be the case in these situations and they do not have any further statement.

The Health and Safety Executive HSE) was also made aware of the incident.

"HSE was made aware of the incident involving a contractor undertaking maintenance work at the plant.

"We have been in contact with the site which has commenced an investigation."
