A major house fire that broke out in Bude is being treated as a 'critical incident'.

Firefighters from across Devon and Cornwall were scrambled to St Anne's Hill on Friday.

Police have confirmed the property is derelict and the scene remains cordoned off.

At its height, crews from St Just to Holsworthy were battling the blaze and locals were urged to keep doors and windows shut because of the smoke.

Surrounding roads were closed, however there are no reported closures on Saturday morning.
