Man found dead after 'incident' in Redruth

Police have confirmed a man has been found dead after an incident in Redruth.

Emergency services were called to reports of a house fire at West End on Monday night.

The initial call came through just after 7.45pm but officers say the details of what happened are still unclear.

Firefighters and paramedics were also scrambled and the road was closed.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that the man's next of kin have been informed.

"We [police] had gone out after contact from the fire service to ourselves to reports of a house fire.

"Officers attended an address in West End.

"One male has been located inside the property deceased.

"Next of kin have been informed".

On Tuesday morning, a police spokesman told Pirate FM the details of what happened remain unclear.

Officers and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service are due to begin an investigation first thing.

"We are going back to at the scene and will meet fire investigators at the scene in the morning".
