Police say a man has suffered potentially life-changing injuries after a serious crash on one of the main roads to St Austell.

The car the 32-year-old was travelling in is understood to have crashed into a garden at Lockengate, Bugle.

Officers say another man, who was also in the vehicle, was 'walking wounded'.

The A391 was closed for over 12 hours and reopened just after 8.30am on Sunday.

"There were two males on board. A 32-year-old male was said to be walking wounded.

"A 32-year-old male suffered quite serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital, where he remains.

"His injuries were described as possibly life-changing which is why the road remained closed.
