Second thunderstorm warning for Cornwall cancelled

The Met Office has cancelled the second weather warning for thunderstorms for Cornwall.

The yellow alert that is out for the whole of Tuesday now mostly misses the south-west, bar the far edge of Dorset.

However the forecast suggests some thundery showers could still be on the cards mid-week.

It comes as temperatures are expected to soar nationwide, hitting the mid-20s in the Duchy.

What is the forecast for this week?

Tonight: "Dry with some clear spells for much of the night, with winds easing too. By dawn there is a risk of a few thundery showers arriving from the south".

Monday: "A risk of thundery showers affecting eastern counties at least until later in the day. The best of the sunshine will generally be further west. Very warm and humid".

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: "Some sunshine but a risk of thunderstorms in the east on Tuesday and west on Wednesday. Mostly sunny on Thursday. Gusty winds on Wednesday and Thursday. Very warm and humid".
