Woman who died in fatal crash is named

A woman who died in a fatal crash on the main road to St Agnes has been named.

Michelle Lorain Dickens was 60-years-old and from Redruth.

Her car collided with another vehicle on the B3277 on Monday afternoon.

Another driver, a 59-year-old man from Doncaster, was rushed to Derriford with a serious leg injury.

All emergency services were scrambled to the scene and the stretch of road was closed for around seven hours.

"Police, fire and ambulance were called just before 1.30pm yesterday [24th June] following the collision on the B3277 close to Chiverton Cross, Cornwall between a Vauxhall Astra and a Mazda MX5.

"Michelle Lorain Dickens, aged 60, from Redruth was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

"The driver of the Mazda a 59-year-old man from Doncaster has sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

"The passenger in Mazda, a 50-year-old local man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Treliske Hospital as a precaution.

"Specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended along with a Forensic Collision Investigator and Scene of Crime Officer; localised closures were lifted at around 8:30pm."
