A van fire and four-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of the A30 in Cornwall has cleared.

Emergency services were scrambled to reports of smoke billowing across the carriageway on Wednesday morning.

One driver suffered minor injuries in the collision near the junction for the A3047, that sparked two-mile tailbacks.

They added: "Road clear and reopened at 9am. One driver suffered a minor injury".

Devon and Cornwall Police

"Traffic returned to normal, accident cleared on A30 eastbound at A3047 (Scorrier).
