Alleged sexual assault on train in Cornwall

An appeal has gone out after an alleged sexual assault on a train in Cornwall.

British Transport Police say it happened between Camborne and Liskeard two weeks ago.

A man reportedly inappropriately touched a woman in her 20s and when she moved carriages he followed her.

Anyone with information or saw what happened is being asked to contact officers.

A 31-year-old man from Camborne was arrested when he got off the train at Plymouth.

He has been bailed until the end of July.

"BTP officers are today appealing for further information after a man was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman on a train in Cornwall.

"The incident happened between 1.18pm and 2.24pm on Friday 28 June between Camborne and Liskeard.

"The victim and two men are reported to have boarded the train at Camborne station.

"During the journey, a man is reported to have inappropriately touched the victim, aged in her 20s. She then moved carriages and the suspect followed.

"The woman left the train at Liskeard. The suspect remained on the service until it arrived at Plymouth where he was arrested.

"The man, 31, from Camborne, was released on bail until Saturday 27th July while officers carry out further enquiries."
