Cornwall celebrates BIGGEST one day show

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 8:56am 15th July 2019. (Updated at 9:50am 15th July 2019)

Thousands of visitors are flocking to Cornwall's biggest one day show at Stithians.

The event showcases the best of the Duchy's agricultural industry, from farming to food.

However organisers are keen to point out that it has plenty more to offer, including music; the 2019 show even has its own buskers corner!

How did the show get started?

The men of the village set up the show more than 180 years ago, as part of a competition to see who could produce the best quality animals and produce.

It has since become a firm favourite for thousands of locals who flock to the traditional agricultural show.

There are many stands to visit, from food and farming to Devon and Cornwall Police and Pirate FM!

What is on offer?

"We've got displays and demonstrations running all day in our countryside area and exhibition rings, live music on the main stage; we recommend the buskers corner which is rather nice to sit and enjoy a cider in the sun.

"It's going to be a super day. We've got a fabulous weather forecast for it. We just want everyone to come along and enjoy it for all the work that's gone into it; we'd love for everyone to come and enjoy that".

Organiser Jenna Payne

What does the weather have in store?

"After a largely sunny start, some cloud will bubble up during the morning.

"However, it should stay dry and there will be sunny spells through the afternoon.

"Again it will feel very warm, especially in the sunshine".
