The road to a popular beach in Cornwall remains sealed off after a fatal cliff fall incident.

On Tuesday, police confirmed that a man had been found dead at Sandymouth in Bude.

The Maritme and Coastguard Agency had reports of a rock fall, sparking a multi-agency operation.

Coastguard rescue teams, firefighters, paramedics and the air ambulance were scrambled but, tragically, the man could not be saved.

Pirate FM understands his body is expected to be recovered at low tide on Wednesday.

Coastguard rescue teams from Bude, Boscastle, Bideford and Hartland are all at the scene, supporting Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.

"The road to Sandymouth Bay Beach in both directions closed due to incident from Stibb to Sandymouth Bay.

"Police are still dealing with an incident from yesterday.

"There is no vehicle access to Sandymouth Bay Beach at this time.

"Parts of Sandymouth Bay Beach are also closed".
