Man 'stabbed' in quiet Cornish village

Police are searching for two suspects after a man was allegedly stabbed in broad daylight in a quiet Cornish village.

The 35-year-old victim was approached by two people down a lane and officers say he was stabbed in the shoulder.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene on Minorca Lane but didn't need to go to hospital.

The offenders ran away and police are still looking for them.

Anyone who saw what happened at around 1pm on Sunday afternoon is being urged to get in touch.

"Police were called to Minorca Lane, Bugle, around 1pm on Sunday 14th July following reports of a serious assault on a man.

"The victim was approached by a man and woman in the lane. A verbal altercation took place and the man was stabbed in the shoulder.

"The 35-year-old man was seen by paramedics but did not attend hospital.

"The offenders left the scene and are being sought by police.

"The man was dressed in black clothing and had short black hair while the woman was wearing a light-coloured top, black trousers and white trainers."

Police are investigating the incident and asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/062832/19.
