12-year-old airlifted after crash in west Cornwall

12-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after a late-night crash in West Cornwall.

Police say the youngster was seriously injured on the A3083 near the Lizard.

He was flown to Derriford after two vehicles hit at Mile End on Saturday night and remains in a serious condition.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were scrambled at around 10.15pm and the road was closed for several hours.

“On Saturday 10th August at approximately 1015pm, police were advised of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A3083 Mile End, near to The Lizard.

“Police, ambulance and fire attended the scene and an air ambulance conveyed a 12-year-old boy to Derriford Hospital who was in a serious condition. 

“The road was closed for a number of hours whilst an investigation took place. 

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have been in the area at the time and have dashcam footage are asked to contact 101, quoting log number 1034 of 10/08/19.

“Police would like to thank the public for their patience during the closure while the scene was investigated”.
