Coastguards have issued a fresh warning about so-called storm selfies, after children were spotted standing close to huge waves in Cornwall.

The team from Mullion witnessed several incidents over the weekend, as strong winds whipped up big swells.

They say safety advice was given and are reminding anyone visiting the coast that "no photo is worth a life".

"Mullion CRT have been on patrol from 12.30 to 14.30 today (Saturday) covering the high tide.

"The sea conditions were very rough. We patrolled the Lizard Point/Polpeor Cove, Mullion Cove and Craig-a-Bella.

"Safety advice was given to several people including children who were getting too close to the rough sea at Polpeor.

"No photo is worth your life, please enjoy the scenes from a safe distance.

"If you see anyone who is in danger by the coast call 999 and ask for the Coastguard".
