A man's body has been found in Truro city centre.

The discovery was made in Church Walk at around 10.30am on Sunday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene but the 64-year-old from Hertfordshire could not be saved.

Officers says that his family has been told and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Police were called to Truro by the ambulance service at around 10.30am on Sunday 18th August after concern was raised for the welfare of a man in Church Walk. 

"The 64-year-old male, from Hertfordshire, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed. 

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
