Missing woman found safe after a major search

There is relief for the family of a woman reported missing in west Cornwall.

Emma Tremaine disappeared from the Truro area on Wednesday evening, sparking a massive search.

Police had issued an urgent appeal amid concerns for the 44-year-old's safety and welfare.

Officers and the Coastguard helicopter were involved in the search, which began at around 5pm.

At one point, anyone who saw Emma was being urged to call 999 straight away.

However, Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed she was found safe and well later on that night.

"Emma has been located safe and well. Thank you for your help".
