Man rescued after falling ill at Cornish beach

A man has been rescued after falling ill at a beach near St Austell.

Paramedics, the air ambulance and a coastguard team got the shout to Par.

They were called at 3.10pm on Wednesday afternoon and the casualty was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The team were paged to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Cornwall Air Ambulance at Par Sands Beach.

"The team assisted to extricate a casualty who was then taken to hospital.."

"We were called on Wednesday at around 3.10pm to Par Beach, St Stephen after a male became unwell. 

"Ambulance teams, including the air ambulance, treated the patient at the scene. 

"He was then taken onto hospital by land ambulance for further treatment."
