Body found on beach in north Cornwall

A body has been found on a beach in north Cornwall.

The discovery was made at Sandymouth Bay in Bude on Thursday morning.

Formal identification has taken place and police have confirmed the body was that of Edward Renshaw.

The 39-year-old went missing from Holsworthy on Monday and his family has been told.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Police were called at 7.45am on Thursday 22nd August to Sandymouth Bay, Bude, following reports that the body of a man had been located.

"Formal ID has now taken place and it has been confirmed that the body was that of 39-year-old Edward Renshaw, who was reported missing from Holsworthy on Monday 19th August. 

"His next of kin have been informed of this development.

"His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
