Biker in his 20s dies after crash in east Cornwall

Police have confirmed a serious crash in east Cornwall was fatal.

Two men in their 20s were rushed to hospital after two motorbikes collided near Torpoint.

One of the riders was described as being in a critical condition and the other as having life-changing injuries after it happened on the A374 near Antony.

However, Devon and Cornwall have since confirmed that a man in his 20s has died.

Earlier, they issued an appeal asking anyone who had witnessed the collision on Thursday afternoon or who had seen two motorbikes in the area on Thursday afternoon to come forward.

“At around 1505 hours on Thursday 5th September 2019, police were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision involving two motorcycles on the A374 between Sheviock and Antony”.

They added: “The road was closed for several hours while specialist examination took place as well as an extensive clear up. 

“Police are grateful for the patience of the public whilst this took place.

“Traffic Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the collision to investigate and establish how the collision occurred.

“Witnesses are requested to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 with information quoting log number 0478 of the 5th September 2019. 

“Police are especially interested in information from anyone who may have seen a Silver Kawasaki 650 motorcycle or a Blue Yamaha R125 motorcycle in the area at the time of the RTC or just prior”.
