Two drivers seriously injured after crash in north Cornwall

Two drivers have suffered serious injuries after a crash in north Cornwall.

They were rushed to Derriford after two cars hit near Wadebridge.

The collision closed the A389 at Washaway for several hours on Monday evening.

Pirate FM understands the air ambulance was scrambled, along with police and paramedics.

Officers are urging anyone who saw something at around 6.30pm to come forward.

"At approximately 1831hrs on Monday 9th September 2019, police were informed of a road traffic collision on the A389 between Bodmin and Wadebridge, between a Nissan Almera and a Volkswagen Polo.

"Both drivers have sustained serious injuries and have been taken to Derriford Hospital.

"Specialist officers from Devon and Cornwall's Alliance Roads Policing Team attended, along with a Forensic Collision Investigator and Scene of Crime Officer.

"A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this collision.

"Police thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene".

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision and who may have dashcam footage to call 101, quoting log 715 of 09/09/19.
