Police appeal launched after fatal crash near Truro

Police have confirmed a woman who died after a crash on the A390 was 68-years-old and from Truro.

She was treated by paramedics and the air ambulance near Probus but, tragically, could not be saved.

Two cars collided at the junction for the B3275 on Tuesday, closing the main road for several hours.

Devon and Cornwall Police want to hear from anyone who saw something at around 10.30am.

Drivers who were in the area at the time are also being asked to come forward with dashcam footage.

"On Tuesday 10th September 2019 at around 10.30am, police were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of the B3275 and the A390 near Probus in Cornwall.  

"The driver of a blue Volvo, a 68-year-old woman from Truro, was treated at the scene by paramedics and air ambulance staff but was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The second vehicle, a silver Mercedes ML270 contained thee people who all sustained minor injuries.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Forensic Collision Investigators also attended and the road was closed for several hours whilst a specialist examination took place.

"Police would like to thank the public for their patience during the closure while the scene was investigated".

Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have been in the area at the time or have any dashcam footage are asked to contact 101, quoting log number 248 of 10/09/19.
