Second 'killer clown' incident in Cornwall

A stranger in a clown mask has chased another woman and child in Cornwall for the second time in a week.

Police say the suspect got out of a vehicle and ran towards them in Penryn.

It happened at night on Treliever Road on Friday the 13th and the man was wearing a 'Pennywise' mask from the horror film IT.

Officers searched the area but no one was found.

"Police were called with a report of a public order offence (use threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm) in Penryn at around 9.20pm on Friday 13th September.

"An unknown person wearing a clown mask reportedly got out of a vehicle and ran towards a woman and a child walking on Treliever Road. 

"The suspect, believed to be male, is believed to be aged between 20 and 25 and was wearing a black hoodie and black shoes and was wearing a 'Pennywise' mask. 

"Officers attended the scene and carried out an extensive search of the area. The local neighbourhood team have also been informed."

Less than a week earlier a similar incident occurred in the town when two women were approached by a man in a clown mask in the woods.

When the pair fled in fear, the 'marauder' reportedly ran after them. He was also wearing a 'Pennywise' style mask.

Anyone who saw anything on either occasion or has any information is being urged to come forward.
