Woman detained after 'incident' at Treliske

Police have confirmed that a woman has been detained under the mental health act after an 'incident' at Treliske.

They were called to the Royal Cornwall Hospital amid concerns for the welfare of a person in crisis.

A cordon was seen in place on the site as firefighters were also called to the scene in Truro on Tuesday morning.

Officers say the woman has now been left in the hands of professionals.

"Emergency Services are at Treliske hospital following concerns for the welfare of a woman on the grounds, who is in crisis.

"This is a live and active matter and wouldn’t be appropriate to comment further at this time".

They later added: "She has been detained under the mental health act and remains in the hands of the professionals."
