Urgent appeal as motorbike crash leaves man 'critical'

Devon and Cornwall Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses after a motorbike crash.

A 49-year-old man from the Launceston area suffered serious injuries at Lee Moor.

Officers say he lost control on a bend on a back road to Plympton and remains in a critical condition.

They want to hear from anyone who saw something on the B3417, just after 7pm on Monday evening.

"Police are currently investigating a serious collision involving a motor bike which occurred on Tuesday 17September.

"The incident happened on the B3417 at Lee Moor at around 7.10pm.

"The rider, a 49-year-old man from Launceston, had been travelling in the Plympton direction when the bike lost control on the right-hand bend.

"He was taken to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

"The weather was warm, dry and sunny.

"The road was closed for a total of six hours whilst officers from the serious collision unit carried out an investigation of the scene.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing".
