The air ambulance, paramedics and coastguard crews all got the shout to Greenaway Beach, near Polzeath on Thursday morning.

The man had tripped and fallen above the beach and suffered minor leg wounds as well as a nasty injury to his head.

A safe landing site was cleared for the helicopter and the casualty was taken to Treliske for treatment.
