Young woman 'punched in face' in Saltash

A young woman has reportedly been punched in the face in broad daylight in Saltash.

Police say it allegedly happened on Babis Farm Close on Saturday morning, in an outdoor area used by dog-walkers.

The offender is believed to be known to the woman, who is in her 20s.

One man has been arrested and bailed and another arrested and released.

Anyone who saw what happened between 10am and 11am is being asked to contact officers.

"Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault that happened in Saltash on Saturday 14 September.

"Between 10am and 11am, a woman in her 20s was allegedly punched in the side of the face by a man on Babis Farm Close in an outdoor area which is used as a cut-through by dog-walkers. The suspect was believed to be known to the woman.

"A 26-year-old man from Saltash was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until 11th October. A 22-year-old man from Saltash was arrested on suspicion of assault and was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

"Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and who may have witnessed the incident to come forward."
