Crashes across Cornwall after the torrential rain

Crashes are being reported after a night of torrential rain and strong winds across Cornwall.

There have been incidents on the back roads near Camborne and St Columb Major.

The B3303 was partially blocked heading towards Praze, after a collision near the Shire Inn.

Belowda Road near St Columb was closed in both directions, following reports of a collision involving a bicycle.

Police have since confirmed that a motorcyclist and a car collided at Castle an Dinas.

"Belowda Road in both directions closed. Slow traffic due to an accident.

"A car and bicycle are involved between the A39 (Trekenning roundabout, St Columb Major) and the B3274 (Roche Cross, Victoria)".

Inrix Traffic and Travel

Both roads have since reopened and Inrix says traffic is clearing.

Drivers are being urged to take extra care, amid fears the downpours could have sparked surface water flooding on the roads.

The Met Office had issued a weather warning for heavy rain for areas north of Bodmin, but that has since been lifted.
