Police in St Austell have revealed one of their response cars has had its tyres slashed.

Officers say the vehicle was out on a job when the incident happened on Sunday night.

They posted a warning on social media, saying it happened during a very busy shift.

Superintendent Ian Drummond-Smith shared the post, calling it "utterly mindless vandalism".

"Madness. That's a car off the road that can't attend a road accident, a lost child or a rape.

"Utterly mindless vandalism".
