A man has been taken to hospital after a van hit a lamppost in Hayle.

Foundry Hill was left closed in both directions on Wednesday morning at around 9.30am.

Police say one person was treated by paramedics at the scene. He has now been taken to Treliske as a precaution.

The vehicle, which was a Vauxhall van, has been recovered but the stretch of road is still partially blocked.

"Foundry Hill in both directions partially blocked, slow traffic due to earlier accident between B3301 Carnsew Road and Trelissick Road.

"Road was fully closed following a vehicle which had hit a lamp post.

"The vehicle has been recovered however it remains partially blocked for repairs."
