Jubilee Pool in Penzance is welcoming our canine friends for its last day of the season!

Honestly - you would be barking mad to miss this!

The pool is celebrating in style after a spectacular summer that welcomed visitors from all over the globe.

The Jubilee pool opens its doors to owners and dogs on Sunday 29th of September. The annual dog day will run from 11 am to 6pm.

It sees lido fans and our four legged friends able to swim in the pool throughout the day, as well as a variety of dog related activities on offer.

"It’s our last day of opening in 2019 before our temporary closure to get ready for our geothermal launch.

"To celebrate you are welcome to bring your best four-legged friends to swim in the pool for the last day of our Summer Season."

The opening of Cornwall's first geothermal spa has had to be delayed until November.

Geothermal Energy Limited, who own the geothermal well next to Jubilee Pool in Penzance, had to stop drilling in April.

They were worried going deeper could cause the well to collapse, after discovering a high water flow zone below the ground.

GEL is installing extra heat pumps to keep the pool warm during the winter months but getting those sorted has taken longer than hoped.

Jubilee Pool is planning to close briefly to finalise all the geothermal engineering works and switch on the heat.

They have also applied for planning permission to upgrade a section of the changing rooms and toilets to make them warm, modernised and fit for all weathers in winter.

It is aiming to open the geothermal pool in November, complete with a new winter menu, Christmas parties and a focus on health and wellbeing in the New Year.

On this Sunday's Dog Day there will be a general (two legged only) swim for the first hour, then dogs will be allowed to join the fun from 11am until 6pm.

Standard entry prices apply and £3 per dog.

A fun dog show is also taking place from 12pm until 1.30pm on the day - you can check out all the classes below:
