Fresh warning over golf balls being 'thrown' in Truro

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 11:46am 30th September 2019.

Police have issued another warning about golf balls reportedly being 'thrown' at a house in Truro.

Officers put out an appeal about the situation back in June and the issue seemed to stop, but now there have been fresh reports.

A property in the Pendrea Wood area of Highertown is being targeted - and the occupant believe the balls are being thrown from Malabar House.

There have been a few 'near misses' and police are warning that if somebody was struck by one it could be life-threatening.

"Over the course of the last few months several reports have been received from a resident of Pendrea Wood area in Truro, of golf balls being thrown at their property.

"The occupant believes that the balls are coming from Malabar House, which is situated at the rear.

"An appeal was put out a couple of months ago and the issue appeared to have stopped. Two months on and the issue has started again and only one property is being targeted.

"There have been a few near misses at the occupier of the property and we, the police, are asking for any information regarding this, before someone gets seriously injured.

"Golf balls are very hard and heavy and if someone was struck by one, then this could result in life-changing or even life-threatening injuries."

Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police
