Police investigate woman's death on Cornish beach

Police are trying to identify the woman found dead on a picturesque beach in west Cornwall.

Officers, Coastguards and paramedics were scrambled to Perrnauthnoe near Marazion

The lady was discovered on rocks but, tragically, could not be saved.

Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating but say they do not believe her death was suspicious.

"Police were called at 12.25pm on October 1 following concern for the welfare of a woman located on rocks at Perranuthnoe Beach in Penzance.

"On arrival officers located the woman deceased.

"Her body has been recovered from the beach and taken to Treliske Hospital.

"Police are conducting enquiries to ascertain the woman’s identify and the circumstances of her death.

"The death is not believed suspicious".
