Potentially serious injuries after a crash near Helston

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a crash on a Cornish back road.

Police say the casualty suffered potentially serious injuries after a van and car collided.

The collision happened on the B3297 Crelly on Wednesday morning, between Redruth and Helston.

The road was closed while emergency services recovered the vehicles but has now reopened.

"Police were notified at around 9.10am to the B3297 at Helston following reports of a two vehicle collision between a van and a car.

"Ambulance attended and a female driver has been taken to hospital with potential serious injuries.

"Road is currently blocked as vehicles still in situ".

Inrix Traffic and Travel says the incident happened between Crelly and Porkellis turn-off.
