Police appeal after a serious crash in Cornwall

Published by Emma Carton at 10:23am 4th October 2019.

Police have launched an appeal after a serious crash near a Cornish peninsula.

A 29-year-old man from the Truro area suffered serious back injuries at Tregony.

The driver was rushed to Treliske on Thursday afternoon, before being transferred to Derriford.

His female passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Newquay, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The collision closed the B3287, the main road in and out of the Roseland, for several hours.

One vehicle was involved and anyone who saw something at around 2pm is being urged to come forward.

"Police are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle collision near Tregony yesterday [3 October] which left a man seriously injured.

"Emergency services were called at 2pm after the black Audi A3 overturned on the B3287 near to the Creed junction.

"The driver, a 29-year-old man from the Truro area, sustained serious back injuries and was first taken to Treliske Hospital before being transferred to Derriford Hospital.

"The passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Newquay, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to Treliske Hospital.

"Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team carried out an examination of the scene as part of their investigation to establish the cause of the collision.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision to get in touch.

"They are particularly keen to speak with the occupants of a white family style hatchback car that may have been on the B3287 at the time and may have seen the black Audi travelling towards Tregony.

"Please email 101@dc.police.uk or phone 101, quoting log 398 of 03/10/19".
