Bodmin man fighting for life after serious crash

A man from Bodmin is fighting for his life after a crash on a busy road through Cornwall.

Two cars hit on the A388 near Callington at around 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon.

Police have told Pirate FM that another man has also suffered potentially life-changing injuries.

Paramedics, officers and firefighters were all called to the scene.

The stretch of road was closed for hours yesterday evening and investigators launched a forensic examination.

Police are urging anyone with dashcam footage or who saw what happened to come forward.

"Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious road traffic collision involving two silver-coloured cars on the A388 near Callington at around 4.30pm on Sunday 6 October.

"Officers attended the scene along with the ambulance and fire services.

"A 73-year-old man from the Bodmin area suffered life-threatening injuries.

"A 58-year-old man from the Swansea area suffered serious injuries which could be life-changing.  

"Officers, including specialists from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full forensic examination.

"Police are urging any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward."
