Person evacuated after cooker fire breaks out

A person has been evacuated after a cooker fire broke out in a village in north Cornwall.

Firefighters from Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin were called to St Breock on Sunday lunchtime.

Paramedics also got the shout after a blaze broke out in a kitchen.

Crews put the flames out and the cause is believed to be accidental.

"Shout 12.21pm, persons reported property fire in St Breock. With crews from Wadebridge CFRS and Bodmin CFRS.

"First attending firefighters quickly extinguished a fire involving the cooker and rescued the casualty from the property before handing over to South Western Ambulance Service."

Padstow Community Fire Station

"Appliances from Wadebridge, Padstow, and Bodmin responded to reports of a kitchen fire. On arrival firefighters discovered a cooker fire. 

"Firefighters assisted to evacuate an occupant from the property and extinguished the fire.

"This incident has been classed as accidental."
