Trio of men try to steal elderly woman's dog

Police are hunting for three men who tried to steal an elderly woman's dog in Camborne.

Officers say the woman in her 70s was walking her pet in the graveyard of St Martin and St Meriadoc's Church on Sunday afternoon.

Three men who were sat on a bench nearby demanded money and then pushed her over.

The trio, who were all wearing dark clothing, then tried to take her dog.

The victim suffered minor injuries and has been left very shaken up.

Anyone who saw what happened is urged to contact police.

"The victim, aged in her 70s, was walking her small, black pet in the graveyard of St Martin and St Meriadoc's Church at around 3.30pm on Saturday 5th October.

"She was accosted by three suspects who were sat on a bench and who demanded money from her. When she said she did not have any, the victim was pushed over and the suspects tried to take her dog.

"The woman sustained minor injuries and was left very shaken by the incident.

"The suspects are all described as white males. One was wearing a grey, hooded top, another a black, hooded top and the third a black jacket."
